Through collaborative discussions in working groups, the Council of Ontario Universities (COU) has developed resources to assist universities in becoming more accessible to students, faculty, staff and the wider community with disabilities, as well as meeting obligations under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
The Accessible Procurement Guide was developed to assist universities in aligning with the legislation requirements for procurement policies and competitive bids while ideally providing staff, faculty, students and visitors with disabilities a positive and supported experience.
The Animals on Campus Guide outlines recommendations around policies and best practices for the Ontario university sector relating to the presence of animals on campus, including emotional support or comfort animals.
